Good to Go

Nomee and I had some quality time together on Sunday - we played with squares and some vintage ric rac which is really cool, pink with a silver edging, a bit difficult to see here.

I also wrapped some presents.

If you are expecting a swap package from me it will be on its way just as soon as those post people do their thing.

These are for the following swaps - Leah's mug rug, APP's Christmas Crumbs and Purple Sparkles Secret Santa.

Thanks ladies for hosting - swaps sure are fun.

Have a fantastic Monday wherever you are.

Christmas rugs

You know I just could not stop at one.
Here in Oz it is summer when Santa comes and we always see him at the beach. I caught him practising his kite boarding last weekend - there is more than one way to get around.

Just couldn't leave this fabric in Spotty last week - Rudolph's friends are hanging about waiting for their gig.

The Christmas tree - already decorated.

Rudolph and a helper have loaded the sleigh ready to make some deliveries.

Which one would you choose?

Hope your preparations are going well.

Happy Creating.

Sew in sewing

So - what did I do after my cuppa and biccies last night?

I cut and sewed this pretty blue - but as you can see - it is all still pieces.

It has been quite some time since I made an apron but I thought it would be appropriate to make one for a swap partner. I may need to rethink that?

Just need to see whether it comes together tomorrow.

Oh, and a little Christmas Tree - just about the right size for my space.

Will be finished soon if Nomee decides to play nice!

Thanks to Heidi and Bobbi for hosting this monthly event.

Enjoy the sunshine.

Are you ready?

for Friday Night sew in that is.
All set to Sew - got the cuppa and biccies ready.

A fantastic start to the weekend.

Thanks to Heidi and Bobbi for hosting.

Can you believe that I am currently working right around the corner from the truly gorgeous Canterbury Quilts?
No, neither can I.
Yesterday one of the clients cancelled at the last minute so I had time to go have a play.
These very practical fabrics followed me home - I have an idea - I may even work with these tonight.

Happy Weekend everybody - hope you get to enjoy some sunshine.

Taking tea...

At the beach

or in the country?

Playing with more mug rug ideas with different themes.

The beach is near where I live and I am currently working in the country.

I had fun using different colours and styles to create these two, there are some more on the sewing table - small projects are my limit at the moment with the day job currently involving lots of hours on the road.

I just need to figure out how to stitch and drive!

Enjoy the creative spaces in your week.

Kitty's star garden

Here's kitty playing in a garden of stars - sure is nice to have some bright ones around here.
This stitchery project is by Lesley Purdon and appeared in Handmade Vol27 No3.
All ready to be included in the finished project - need to put Nomee to work again.
Have a great Monday - may there be some time in your day for creating.

PS: It appears that while my computer has been most cantankerous lately there have been episodes of no comments being saved and multiples of the same thing! I wasn't really ignoring you or being really obnoxious. Hoping to return to normal soon??

Disaster!

I stitched the 'C' on Saturday and another 'T' on Sunday.

I was on track to give these to some ex-colleagues that I was catching up with on Monday.

and then disaster struck!

A little cold water rinse as per instructions and the red ran!

I am not a happy stitcher and decided that no-one could have one if I couldn't give all my friends a present!

A day out

This looks like the place.

The speaker was the entertaining Jodie.

Is it so wrong to play bag spotting at sewing events?
This little number belonged to another stitcher there to enjoy the day's activities.

So why do I have a picture as a reminder. I really like the design and may try something similar.

A lovely day spent in good company.

As the days activities finished at 4pm and involved a lot of sitting, sure I did a few stitches but I haven't taken any photo's of those.
I decided a walk was in order before I drove back down the big hill.
All the rain means that Lake Wendouree now has water in it and there is lots of green and the bird's have come back.
Specifically I wanted to take a look at this memorial, which is in the Ballarat Botanical Gardens, to Australian Ex-Prisoners of war.

All the names of those held in the many wars Australia has participated in, are inscribed in the low wall at the back. It is a very symbolic sculpture

Hope you had time for creativity and contemplation in your weekend.

V, T, J, cat

It seems I don't know my A, B, C after all.
More stitching ready for making into gifts for Christmas giving.

I started this cat in a box, I really like her simplicity and perfect for a Gift.

Design by Lesley Purdon printed in Handmade Vol27, No3.

Hope your week has been a good one with lots of creativity.

Next stop the weekend.

Stocking Received

My mailman delivered a squishy package today.
Ooh - pretty paper, I wonder what's inside??

A very pretty stocking with lace and beads and ribbon.

A little pretty goes a long way today.
Thanks Lisa and thanks to Selina for hosting such a fun swap.

A little stitching

A little stitching has been achieved here - the grand plans of playing with the sewing machine have been abandoned in favour of a rest in the comfy chair with needle and thread.
Works in progress - the sleigh is loaded and Rudolf is just waiting patiently for further instructions.

A snowflake from a design by Michelle over at The Raspberry Rabbits.

Taking things very slowly this week - figure you do not want to see any more hexies here - they are still stacking up nicely. Can't wait to send some out.
My personal challenge for November is to complete all the gifts which need to go in the post and not challenge the post people to do their thing in the last week before Christmas. I'll let you know whether I am successful or not at the end of the month.
Happy Crafting.
